We are delighted to welcome Ian Prophet and everyone at Norfolk Broads Fishing Ltd.
Here you will find details about your sponsored hive and the colony as it develops over the coming season. Links to photographs and videos will be posted as the season continues so you will be able to see exactly what's happening inside the hive as it grows.
The colony currently consists of a one year old queen and approx. 10-12,000 worker bees, all of which are female. As the season progresses bee numbers will swell to a peak of up to 60,000 workers, 2-3000 drones and 1 queen.

| 15th January 2012 : | Today we moved your colony into it's new apiary ready for the start of the 2012 season. It's in a lovely little apple orchard in the heart of the Norfolk Countryside. Surrounded by fields and hedgerows, we believe it's in an ideal location to thrive. |
| 17th January 2012: | We were concerned about damage caused to another hive by a woodpecker so today I used some chicken wire to wrap around the hive to provide protection against any damage. I have posted a picture in the Gallery which can be accessed here or via the link at the top of the page. |
